Today, Fair Life Africa Foundation’s CEO spoke at Child Rights Foundation’s programme to mark the Universal Children’s Day.  The event, held at Caro Favoured School, Ajegunle, was themed ‘Advocacy For The Rights Of The Child’, and was organised in partnership with Unicef Nigeria.

Ms Ufuoma Emerhor was invited to speak with the hundreds of children present about the rights they enjoy, courtesy of the efforts of many activists and humanitarians who fought and still fight on their behalf.  Her presentation titled ‘Know Your Rights’ was a thought provoking and informative session that encouraged the children to speak out and exercise their freedoms.

Other non-profits represented at the event included Youth Passions Initiative, Children Outreach Community Child Care Mission and The Family House Initiative.  Select pupils from many local and primary schools were in attendance, to represent their schools and receive empowerment through knowledge of their rights.  The Marching Band of Caro School presented a wonderful rendition of the national anthem, and led the gathering is reciting the pledge.

In her speech, Ufuoma praised the advocates before her, saying “we thank God for all those who fought for the liberty and protection of our children.  For those who saw that if they were to do nothing, they too would partake in the oppression of the child“.  Do not stand by and do nothing.  Let us join our hands together for change.

Fair Life Africa Foundation is honoured to have been able to share this day with them, and be a part of the movement for change for children all around the world.  We appreciate Child’s Rights Foundation for their initiative and invitation.
