Yesterday, the 10th of January, 2014, Fair Life Africa Foundation marked another year of humanitarian service as a non-profit organization in Nigeria. We are three years and still going strong; thanks to our sponsors, donors, friends, volunteers and staff who have all believed in and supported the vision. We appreciate you all!
Fair Life Africa currently runs a day centre where street boys are invited to come in twice a week to bath, change clothes, eat, get educational lessons and rest, while also being assessed and counselled towards reconciliation with their families. We will soon open again as a Respite Home to support them through our Rehabilitation Programme.
Twelve boys arrived at the Centre yesterday morning with excitement written all over their faces, eager and ready to celebrate. Rume Kragha, whose birthday was on the 2nd of January, came in with a few friends, to share his birthday with the children. They came bearing provisions for the Home and spent some time chatting with and getting to know the kids. It was so very encouraging!
The peak of the day came when the C.E.O of Fair Life Africa Foundation, Mrs Ashogbon, came in with a birthday cake, and the children couldn’t help but burst out shouting gleefully. After their lunch, the cake was cut for desert. They all gathered to watch a movie after they’d washed their plates, and some requested to, and were supported to, use the computer as well.
It was surely a wonderful day and we are thankful for the gift of another year to celebrate, as we look forward to many more fruitful years to come.
