School Bells Are Ringing Again!
If you stepped out on the streets of most Nigerian states last week Monday, I’m sure you couldn’t have missed it. There was that typical back to school vibe in the air: the energetic hustle of parents ushering their wards to school, new backpacks strapped over pressed uniforms, and sparkling white socks in danger of turning a different shade by afternoon. Most primary and secondary schools across Nigeria officially resumed last week Monday, and the excitement at FLA was spine-tingling for so many reasons. Our team spent the lead-up getting our sponsored scholars ready with their school supplies and fees so they could march into their classrooms on day one with big smiles and zero stress.
Child Sponsorship Just Got Personalized
There’s going to be a little shake-up regarding our Disadvantage to Advantage (D2A) Initiative. Starting this September, we are shifting away from our previous flat rate of ₦40,000 per child.
Because every child’s academic path and school requirements are unique, sponsorship costs are now calculated specifically for each individual child.
These are the funding options available to our wonderful partners:
- Direct Matching: You can choose to be directly linked with a specific child and cover their calculated school package.
- The Sponsorship Fund: Alternatively, you can donate any amount toward our general Child Sponsorship Fund, which our team uses to settle outstanding fees and emergency educational bills across the board.
This flexibility means that no child gets left behind due to sudden fee changes! A genius move, don’t you think?

WASSCE Results Are In (And We Are Proud!)

The official 2026 WASSCE exam results for our senior secondary scholars came in. And, boy, did our kids absolutely deliver! Seeing every one of them pass with flying colours after months of hard work and late-night studying makes every single effort worthwhile.
Now, our focus turns to their next big leap: higher education. Through our Big Brother (and Sister) Scholarship, we are currently seeking mentors and sponsors willing to stand beside these bright secondary school graduates as they navigate university admissions, tuition, and living costs. If you’ve ever wanted to adopt a “younger brother or sister” in university, well, now is your chance.

Quiet Moves within the Team
Behind closed doors, our insider team has also been sitting over a few delicate cases. We recently received pressing requests from a few individuals and young families going through unexpected life hurdles ranging from sudden health challenges to shelter needs.
