On behalf of all the Fair Life Africa Foundation children, we write to say thank you so much for making their Christmas merry too.
We sent out a few social media campaigns requesting for your support, and you came through for us! Thanks for your donations in kind and cash towards our Christmas outing/party with the kids at Piccadilly Suites Swimming Pool and helping us to spread cheer among them and their families, through the gifts and provisions they received. If not for your care and support, they would have missed out on the festivities and joy this season brings to all! God bless you.
On Saturday, the 16th of December, ten FLA Kids between 9 and 13 years old were invited to be a part of The Bloom Party again this year! It was an awesome occasion as before, and they were dressed up as princes and princesses, and treated to such a lovely spread of food. They were also presented with Christmas gifts to take home. We were honoured to be part of the organisations to benefit from this annual charitable initiative.
On Friday, the 22nd of December, CSR-in-Action came alongside Fair Life Africa to take the children on an inspiring “Good Citizen” talk about “Honesty”. It was an opportunity to imbibe this good value into our children, teaching and reminding them of the rights as citizens, and their responsibility to be good ones too! The children were each given a booklet from which they read out in a fun reading session, and got to take home too.
Afterwards, 40 girls between 9 and 17 years old, who joined the 33 FLA Kids, being part of our Girl Empowerment and Training Programme with SAGE, were each presented with gift bags filled with provisions for their homes. They were also given a copy of Victoria Ozudu’s fictional romantic novel, “Dazzle Me Forever”. It is an interesting story that has great lessons, and is suitable for young children too.
Ufuoma brought along a copy of her new book, “The Church Girl” to give away to one of the more mature children (16+). She picked Deborah, who answered a question correctly, by telling the story of the “Good Samaritan”, as an example of a “Good Citizen”. The other FLA Kids were each given a copy of Victoria’s novel and had a choice of one of four short-fiction timeless classics, The Time Machine, Robinson Crusoe, Gullivers Travels and Obinna And The Smugglers, donated by Melrose Books.
After they were served their lunch, thirty FLA Kids took part in our excursion to Piccadilly Lodge And Suites, to enjoy a pool party. They had a good time splashing, swimming, dancing and playing in the water. They were also treated to more lovely snacks, fruit and drinks too. They had so much fun, they did not want to leave! When they eventually left to go home, they were each presented with their special gift bags filled with various food items and provisions for their homes.
Thank you once again for all the support you lend us, so that we can show love to our children all year round. We want to wish you and your home a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May the light of Christ abide in your heart and in your homes forever. God bless you!
