We would like to announce that our Summer Camp Programme, themed “Leaders of Tomorrow, Today”, will be coming up from the 5th through the 11th of August, this year. The summer programme is aimed at enlightening the FLA Kids on different topical issues concerning the Nigerian politics today, how it affect their day to day lives, and how their choices and actions affect others.
Some of the topics we intend to focus on include: What it Takes to be a Leader – The Nigerian Politics Today in Comparison With Other Parts of the World; What is National Revenue, and How is it allocated? What Happens When we Break the Law? Personal Growth and Development – How Personal Choices Create Great Ripple Effects on a Nation as a Whole; The Importance of Transportation to National Development; Safety on Our Roads; Sport for Fun; Citizenship and Voting in Your Country, etc.
Fair Life Africa Foundation is planning to have three dozen FLA Kids, between ages 7 and 20 years in attendance. We are expecting individuals and representatives from different organizations, to give talks on the different topics listed above. They include the Lagos State Inland Revenue Service, The Mental Health Foundation, Foundation of Moral Value Reorientation, the Vigilant Hearts Foundation amongst others.
The children will also be taken on excursions to various locations including the the Lagos State Secretariat at Alausa, Ikeja, the Lagos State High Court, the Kirikiri Prison, Ajegunle-Apapa and the Special Correctional School for boys, Oregun. We plan to carry provisions along when we visit the prison and the correctional centre, and so we would very much appreciate donations in kind to take with us! The children will also be given a special tour of the Muritala Muhammad International Airport and the Lekki Conservation Centre.
There will also be time for the kids to enjoy some indoor and outdoor games, a book reading night and a movie night! It’s a jam-packed week, and despite trying to minimize costs, the week-long programme would cost us N20,000 per child, inclusive of transportation and feeding. We believe it is a worthwhile investment we are making into the lives of these children, and we invite you to support our plans by sponsoring a child or making a donation towards the programme.
Please donate to Fair Life Africa Foundation at GTBank – 0106643687 or you can give via our GlobalGiving Project Page or via our Events Page on Paystack. For donations in kind, do consider toiletries, beverages, food and other household provisions. Contact Us if you would like us to pick up or you can deliver to our office at 2 Gbara Close, off Maiyegun Beach Road, Lekki, Lagos. If you would like to volunteer your time, you are also very welcome to come along!
Every little bit helps, thanks so much!
